The judges were impressed with Grant Thornton’s social mobility programme. Running since 2013 and assessed independently, they have been able to show that removing academic entry requirements and making recruitment more open has had no impact on performance. In fact those joining through this path have performed as well as, or better than, those recruited through the traditional criteria. It has also strengthened their ability to tender successfully.
