While co-developing a ‘Business of Law’ Masters with UCD Smurfit and UCD Sutherland Law School, A&L Goodbody have epitomised a successful partnership between a business school, a law school and a law firm. The judges were impressed with a best in kind cooperation between industry and academia.
The development of the Masters programme and its delivery required true joint design and execution. Outcomes and performance arising from the programme are salient. The judges felt that the partnership was likely to have longevity and expand into new opportunities. They liked that others could learn from and replicate this endeavour.
Altogether, the ALG Masters results from a remarkable enduring cooperation to strengthen the profession.

This innovative and challenging collaboration is based on co-developing a ‘web reputation’ solution focused on implementing a system of alerts, risk assessments and appropriate legal/PR response procedures to address web reputation issues in a top pharmaceutical firm.
This collaboration stresses the novel holistic approach of Bird & Bird in reaffirming the firm’s vision to be the world-leading law firm for organisations embracing changes due to technology or the digital world.
The judges were impressed by the speed and efficiency of the transfer from legacy to the new firm – over a single weekend – and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from clients and market commentary to the new firm.
